Leroy Harvey Tiny Home
Leroy Harvey is a United States Marine Corp Veteran that received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnamese Services Medal, and a Vietnamese Campaign Medal during his tour in Vietnam.
Leroy was living in a trailer home in Roanoke Rapids, NC that was in desperate need of plumbing repairs, roof replacement, and water damaged floor replacement. In lieu of making repairs on the existing structure, we elected to look for alternative housing for him. Purple Heart Homes graciously agreed to take the lead on this project, and with our partnership, they were able to place a tiny home on the lot adjacent to Leroy's previous home.
The residents of Roanoke Rapids and the local Lowe's Home Improvement provided an enormous amount of support for this endeavor. Volunteers helped with construction and landscaping, many of those above the age of 70.
We are so thankful to have been able to be a part of this transition for Leroy. And a huge thank you to Purple Heart Homes and Lamar Austin for making it happen!
