Scott Whittemore Renovation

Scott Whittemore is a US Coast Guard Veteran that lives in Henderson, NC. Scott served our nation for 17 years before retiring due to medical issues. He suffers from an autoimmune disease, Joseph's Syndrome, that leaves him vulnerable to developing infections and he also has a nervous system disorder which has weakened his right side extensively. This is in addition to suffering from active-duty related PTSD.

Scott is the primary caregiver for his elderly mother who lives with him. He reached out to us to see if we might be able to assist with some bathroom renovations to provide better accessibility for both he and his mother. Operation Command was also able to team up with several local contracting groups to expand the bathroom footprint and install a walk-in shower. As part of these renovations, Scott and his mom received new flooring, fixtures and cabinetry in the bathroom and laundry room.

Scott and his Mom were extremely gracious during the renovation process and are very happy with the end result! Special thanks to all of our partners: Bees Electric, Brock Contract Services, Capital Container, Capital Drywall, Great Escape, WACO Plumbing and WFP Construction.
